What is BS 3987 for anodised aluminium finishes?
BS 3987 is a British Standard for anodic oxidation coatings on wrought aluminium. It specifies requirements for clear and coloured anodic oxidation coatings on wrought aluminium for external architectural applications, and provides the best industry specification to ensure that the durability and integrity of external architectural applications is maintained.
BS 3987 is relevant to:
- Architects and designers of architectural components
- Companies providing surface treatment solutions
- Aluminium suppliers or fabricators
- Mechanical and chemical engineers
- Industries including but not limited to automotive, aerospace and food manufacturing
Benefits of our BS 3987 compliant anodised finishes.
Our range of natural anodised finishes are compliant with BS3987 with an average depth of 25 microns, and no fewer than 20 microns. They can be applied with a matte or textured finish as your project requires, allowing architects to express themselves creatively.
They also offer a range of other practical benefits, including:
Nautural Anodising.
Our BS 3987 compliant Natural Anodised finishes are durable and corrosion resistant, making them suitable for all projects. It is the least expensive anodic finish, but it doesn’t sacrifice visual splendour or the many other benefits of anodised aluminium.
