Unique amongst surface treatments, such as coatings, anodising is totally integrated with the metallic substrate - it is not simply a film applied to cover the surface. The result - pure aluminium - is a perfectly and repeatedly recyclable material with remarkable performance characteristics.

Compared to other surface treatment methods, the anodising process is integral to aluminium. Anodising is a precise process that alters the crystalline structure of aluminium to create a high-quality finish available in a range of colours and textures and suitable for a variety of projects. Long-term on-site performance

An Independently certified audit of the long-term on-site performance of batch anodised aluminium extrusions and panels on exterior architectural applications in the UK was carried out in 2008. The purpose of this audit was to assess the real long term on-site performance of batch anodised extrusions and panels, compared to accelerated laboratory testing on which earlier conclusions had been based. The results showed that high-quality anodising associated with a high-quality metal substrate together provides the optimum protection and longevity for aluminium for external applications.

We have been the ideal solution for many construction, build, and design projects worldwide and have anodised iconic buildings such as Titanic Belfast, The Royal College of Art in London, and St James Square, to name a few.

In 2020, United Anodisers was part of the winning team for the UK Façade Award winner for the best use of aluminium UK. The project was CTAR Leeds Becket University, which featured the iconic UA Organic Colour range. The Anodising finish, as a process of (electrolytic passivation) increases the thickness of the natural oxide layer on the surface of metal parts, meaning it enhances the natural qualities of aluminium, providing a strong contemporary finish with incomparable corrosion and abrasion resistance.

Other notable projects include the Huawei Technical Centre in Hangzhou, a project which included full delivery and project management – material purchasing, shipping, and anodising. The customer benefited from high quality anodising as well as working with an experienced partner like United anodisers.

We know that people live longer than some materials used on construction projects, and having constant work done can lead to complaints about the scaffolding, noise, and apartment blocks, high maintenance fees – we are proud that anodising can help put an end to this by being to the go-to solution for long term solution.
