Titanic Belfast is one of Northern Ireland’s most important cultural sites and tourist destinations. Since opening its doors on 31st March 2012 to mark the centenary of the RMS Titanic, it has played a key role in the resurgence of the tourism industry in Northern Ireland, welcoming more than 10 million visitors from 145 countries worldwide.
Titanic Belfast’s CEO, Judith Owens MBE said, “This is a hugely significant day for everyone at Titanic Belfast. Not only are we celebrating our 10 millionth visitor, but we are also recognising how far we have come in establishing Titanic Belfast as a globally recognised, must-see attraction.
“When we opened in 2012, we were proud to share the story of Titanic and to invite visitors to Belfast to discover where the iconic ship was designed, built and launched. Since then, Titanic Belfast has demonstrated how a major tourism investment, driven by passion and belief can act as a catalyst for economic growth and help positively position a destination on the global stage.”
It’s also ‘must-see’ in a more literal way.

A striking and unique building defined by its anodised façade
Defined by its stunning anodised aluminium rainscreen cladding system, Titanic Belfast is a striking and unique building that shows what can be achieved with our pure aluminium solutions.
2,000 panels made from more than 120 tonnes of aluminium were anodised and laid in an irregular diagonal configuration across the museum’s 28 metre-high ‘hulls’ to create a truly stunning façade.
Most impressively of all, the building still looks good as new today despite being located in the harsh, maritime environment of Belfast’s docks. The building faces high winds, salty spray from the sea and UV from the sun which threaten the building with corrosion every day.
Our Z33 Natural Anodised finish is weather-resistant and corrosion-proof, only needing minimal maintenance and cleaning to retain its beautiful shine. These qualities ensure our anodised finish retains its brilliant shine at all times, even in the most challenging conditions.
We are the only company in the world which can provide a lifetime guarantee in this type of marine environment.
14 years later, the finish has proven time and again what makes it so remarkable.
